Hidden ovary on US

Hi,

I just had an US and the technician couldn't find my left ovary.

I had an other US around the 17th March following a missed mc and d&c. Both were there (I have the photos to prove it!!)

Has anyone else experienced this???

I'm freaking out now because I had an HSG 12 days ago and hope that it hasn't messed things up inside. My left tube is blocked :(((

I am on CD22 and trying to find out why I haven't been able to conceive for years and years....so frustrating :(

Sorry, I have never heard of that, but my thoughts are that you are fine. Maybe your ovary is just positioned slightly different. I don't think an HSG could have been to blaim. It wouldn't hurt to have another ultrasound, by a different technician. Best of luck!

That's really odd.
I had a HSG and one of my tubes was blocked as well, although he was able to unblock it during the procedure. My left ovary is positioned oddly and takes a little longer to find.
My thoughts are that your ovary is definelty there and the problem is probably with the US tech.

Actually I showed the images and report to my Dr last Friday and she reassured me that this can sometimes happen. The ovary can hide behind the bowel and no amount of pressing and prodding can move it on that particular day. The technician tried for about 30 minutes but nothing. She said not to worry about it and that it will not have disappeared after the HSG. Thats somewhat of a relief but in any case the left tube is blocked so it would be a small miracle of i got pg from this side anyway.
IVF here we come!
