So after being together for 14 years (on and off) we decided that it was time to have a baby. He and I both split up and had a child around the same time 8 years ago, so I know at least 8 years ago we were both fertile. He lost his little girl due to being born prematurely (the mother had a condition while she was pregnant) and my son has had multiple health issues and I almost lost him when he was born. We spent a lot of his first two years in the hospital until we got his conditions under control, but otherwise now he is mostly healthy with a few minor hiccups.

Now we have been trying since August 3rd to be exact to get pregnant with no luck. Today his sister announced that she is pregnant again with her 3rd child, ya know that's great but with her marriage she has had all health children and together right now they have 4 very healthy children. She has been trying for another girl and has lost 5 or 6 babies in the past year and probably 3 or 4 the year before. The doctors have told her to stop for the sake of her own health and the unborn child but she doesn't seem to care that it's hurting her and she keeps losing babies. She tells us everytime she gets pregnant and it seems like she is just fertile myrtle. 

This morning when she did her facebook announcement I had no idea that she was pregnant again and I lost it. My emotions came over me and I was overfilled with tears and emotions. I was trying to hide them from my son and hubby so I ran immediately to the shower after he screamed "are you kidding me my dumba** sister is pregnant again." After seeing the pregnancy announcement I got up and ran to the shower trying not to let them know it was getting to me. While in the shower all I could do was stand there and cry. 

This may sound insensible on my part but why is it that she can get pregnant over and over and over with not a care in the world, but we have been trying with August and it's like we are making no progress. Today I went and did a lot of reading and everyone is saying they got pregnant within the first couple of months of trying. Is it different for someone who already has a child? Am I doing anything wrong? I'm 28 and he's 33. At this point it's really breaking me emotionally. I used to get my hopes up every month if my AF was just a couple days late and starting taking tests. I became obssessed with checking my cervix and I still check my cervix but not as much as I used to. 

Is there anything I can do to help with this progress? My insurance does not cover a fertility doctor so that it out of the question. I've had some say to go ahead and start taking folic acid and prenatals and others say to do nothing. I'm at a loss and it's starting to put me in a depression. It seems that literally all of my friends are getting pregnant and I'm just the third wheel. I have about 4 or 5 pregnant friends right now and I'm over here praying everyday is the day. I'm just lost.
