I am so sorry that you are having a hard time right now. I agree with Celia, and the first thing I thought of was that your hubby might be struggling unknowingly with a hormone imbalance or a thyroid problem, which would affect both his need for extra sleep, and lower his libido. It sounds like you two have a long-standing relationship, so I really don't think he would just be telling you what you wanted to hear if it weren't truly how he feels. The only other thing that might be going on is that when TTC, it does kind of take some of the spontaneity and romance out of sex, especially for our guys in my opinion. For us, it can feel even more romantic because of the thought that we are possibly creating a little human with the love of our life, but guys don't already have that separate maternal instinct driving them in the bedroom. He might still really want to have a little one, but also be scared about what that could potentially mean to the dynamics of your own relationship. These are just thoughts, obviously, you know him better than anyone. Also, have you tried talking to him about this when you aren't already upset? Maybe he would open up a bit more if he didn't feel so put on the spot, so to speak. Good luck to you, don't lose hope! (:
