Hi everyone. I am new to this but I feel I need to do it. We have only been trying for less than a year...I came off the pill and didnt have a period for over 3 months. Went to the drs knowing full well they couldn't do anything yet but that evening I came on (must have worked to talk about it!!!) Since then I have had cycles of 49 days, 37 days and 33 days. I am now on day 34 and was a little hopeful...then got a negative test. I try to tell myself to be positive and not too disheartened but wow its hard!!! Especially when two close friends, another friend and my sister are all due in the next month. I have never felt so jealous in my life, which is awful. Is it wrong to hope that test was wrong and try again tomorrow!

Hi and welcome to the group. I think it's great you decided to join. It's a safe and supportive place to vent your frustrations. I always wished I would have joined when we were struggling with our first (which took 11 months of TTC). We are now beginning month 8 with #2. It is very discouraging, especially when it seems everyone else gets pregnant immediately or says they weren't even trying. I always wonder if the test is wrong too or start to excited if my period is later than usual. It's rough. I know that feeling. But at this point I'm learning to just wait it out and see. With all the money spent in the ovulation tests I find skipping the pregnancy tests saves some money too. But best of luck!

Thanks for commenting. I know I'm utterly ridiculous in expecting it to just happen. Its so frustrating when you have spent ten years desperately trying to stop it from happening that when you are ready and you seem to be the only one it isnt happening to its just hard to stay positive, and therefore be "in the mood" a lot! Vicious circle!

I took another test this morning, still nothing on day 36. One of the friends mentioned had her baby the day I posted.
We have a week away (only going down south, we live in England) in a couple of weeks which may be just what we need.

Update - now on CD43 (last one was 33, one before was 38) done 3 tests and nothing...waiting game I suppose, not sure if I will happy/relieved/upset/annoyed if AF comes! Feeling better mentally today though :)

I can relate to the irregular cycle. I cried this month getting my cycle, but I also had gratitude, because I could remember a time when my cycle was so irregular there was never a guarantee the cycle would come for months at a time. I was abstinent then. Now I get the cycle and it's sad knowing that I have to wait another month to try again, but at lest the cycle is coming and is more predictable than ever. Thanks for sharing.

Hi SeekingHope1981, I am still waiting (CD53) and have had another negative test so getting a bit anxious to be honest. It is horrible having to tell my other half that it is negative, he doesn't quite understand how other things affect cycles.
Hoping its just a bump in the road and we will keep trying.
In other news 5 of my friends/family friends have had babies in the past 2 weeks...with 3 more due before Xmas. It really does seem the world is against us at the mo!

I think you can be more vigilant when its about your cycles, Hope you track your ovulation well I, for myself use Ela Ovulation Calculator and kits... was clueless till last year and didn't know what to do about irregular periods and symptoms that can be so eluding.. being sure at least keeps me positive and hopeful
