hello, I'm new here but in serious need of support my husband and I have been trying to have a baby for nearly 5 months now I know for some that doesn't seem long but for me it is an eternity I'm doing everything I can as far as taking ovulation tests and tracking my bbt my periods are slightly irregular but not bad we have sex when my LH surge spikes and still nothing I'm worried something is wrong since I was on birth control for about 7 years before! Any advice would be much appreciated!

I'm so sorry you have problems with your ttc. First of all you should visit a doctor. You should check your fertility to know what is wrong with you. Your husband should do the same. You’ll know for sure what the reason of your inability to conceive. Then you will be able to move on. I hope you will find answers to your questions! I wish you good luck!

I just didn't know if it was to soon to see a doctor! I just don't want to be to impatient I have heard it can take up to a year to conceive I just really don't know what to do!!

I have been TTC for 3 years now. I'm not a doctor, but from my experience, it depends on your age as to when its recommended to go in. If under 35, than 12 months of TTC is "normal". If over 35, than after 6 months they recommend going in. I am currently 32, and when I went in after 6 months I was told to wait another 6 months. It can be frustrating, but we have pursued other alternatives while waiting for the 12 month mark. Now we are about to start more aggressive treatment and I am hopeful for positive results.
