bad side effects from progesterone..

I started taking progesterone 4 days ago. I have been so tired and grouchy all week, I cant hardly get my but up to do anything. I take the kids to school and come home and instead of opening my shop like I usually do, I sit aroung all morning then I go to sleep. I was looking online and I read tons of people experience this same thing. I have 4 kids and run a business I cant afford to feel like this. I just had my 3rd miscarriage 2 wks ago, am I even suppose to be taking the progesterone yet? Maybe I heard the Dr. wrong, Im not suppose to ttc for a few months but what if I get preg. before then, do u need the progesterone before you conceive or right after you miss your period. I feel aweful...

I'm sorry you're having bad side effects. It affects women so differently. When you are taking progesterone, it is started shortly after ovulation and continued either until AF starts or, ir you're pregnant, until about 10 weeks. If you have ovulated then, yes, you should be taking it. I hope it gets better.

I took progesterone to force a period basically. They also wanted to see if I responded to it. I'm not sure why you're on it so soon, but then again I'm no doctor.

It actually had very little effect on me, except for the fact that it made me irritable. I would call your doctor and tell him how it's going. He may be able to reduce the dosage.

I have taken progesterone also. It made me really sleepy and tired too. My RE suggested taking it before bed time, so the you sleep through the worst part. It really seemed to help the side affects and I got a great night sleep.

I started taking it 3 or 4 days ago at night, and the only thing I have noticed is some spotting today. I don't know if it's the same spotting I have had in previous cycles as a result of low progesterone levels or if it's irritation from using the suppositories. I hate this constant mystery of what's happening with my body! I hope you start feeling better soon!
