Ok so here is my random thoughts that kind of just popped in my head today. Can you have CM without actually ovulating? Yes this just came to me out of the blue :-) lol

ahhh right, sorry im not use to all these short hand terms. I have no idea thought. Im still trying to figure out how you know if you havent ovulated without OPK's. I might have PCOS though and I always have alot of CM. xxxxxxxxxxx

and i have read that ovulation causes the change to make it watery x

Yes, you can have fertile CM and not ovulate.

will progestrone test show if you are ovulating? Long story short. I have a large cyst on my left ovary. Going in tomorrow for pre-op, then friday to have progesterone test. Started having EWCM today. I am so confused by all of this. So I may not even be ovulating at all then?

Yes, a progesterone test will tell you whether or not you ovulated.

My doctor said that a low progesterone level is the best way to determine that you haven't ovulated. Even the Ovulation kits can say it's ovulation time and not be accurate. They only say when the conditions are right for you to ovulate, not that you have.

A cyst can prevent an egg from dripping so yes. I have polycystic ovaries (... my ovaries have hudreds of small cysts... most too tiny to effect, but several are large enough to cause a missed ovulation)

Its normal, I have been told that it can be harder to get pregnant when you have cysts only because a cyst means a missing egg... no egg means no baby...

to answer all of your questions: yes. my doc wouldnt evev let me try to get pregnant when i had a large cyst develop in the middle of fertility treatments. it took 2 months to shrink and we got pregnant on the next cycle. sit down with your doc and go over all of your questions and come up with a game plan.
