Hello,

My husband and I have been trying for two years now. We have been together for 5 years and married for a year and a half. Every month can be a struggle when on that special day a certain friend comes over uninvited. I pray almost every night and day to finally be pregnant. Hard part is keeping my faith. I read and see so many sad and awful stories about children being abused and negleted and wonder why? Why would God put a child in that situation when there are so many people waiting to love a child of thier own. It can be so hard to feel happy for others when inside I'm saying why not me? When is my turn? I dont want to feel this way at all, but it is so hard after 2 years of trying and waiting. My husband and I are both in our late 30's and financially ready to have a family. Niether of us have children. We both made the decision early in our lives to wait for marriage to have children. Now I wonder did we miss our window. Are my percentages to low to have a child. We finally made an appointment with a specialist next month. I can only hope and pray something happens. Sadly this is something I almost cry daily about.

Hi there. I think i know how you feel. Its our second wedding anniversary next month and our second year of trying. Im in my late 30's as well. But keeping the faith. It will happen. We've been seeing a specialist for over a year now. We started seeing one just after a few months of trying cause i was afraid we're running out of time. I dont know what to do next but just hope and pray.

Have you reached out to your OBGYN? I just went and saw one for the first time after 5 years of trying on my own. Turns out I’m extremely hormone deficient. I started my treatments today. He also told me the age old wives tale of the ticking clock isn’t so much true anymore. As we age we do stop producing as many eggs, but as our life expectancies have changed so has the clock and there’s no reason a healthy 40+ woman cant have a child. If you haven’t yet just go see your OB and bring it up.

I understand you're thoughts. I get so angry when I see and hear of people getting pregnant. It angers me when I hear that they were not trying, saying it was a mistake. It angers me, no child is a mistake and how much I wouldn't give just to be able to have one baby of my own. About a month ago my in-laws, who are currently foster parents, they had asked my husband and I if we would be willing to take in a baby. My in-laws were already foster 2 sisters, their mother was pregnant with a boy. Social worker wanted a back up plan in case the mom, who is a meth addict, can't keep their baby and wanted to keep the kids close together. Long story short, the baby stayed with mom. It angered me knowing that my husband and I could give that baby a better home than a drug addict mom could. I am hoping as we continue with the foster care/adoption process we can give those babies from abused and neglected homes a loving safe home, one they deserve.

I share your pain, twelve months now trying, wedding anniversary in a week and feeling very down in the dumps. Additionally I have a baby shower to attend a day before the anniversary, as well as a wedding same week with a friend who is pregnant when she was not even ready,Then found out just today the other friend is also pregnant with second child, first month trying for this second child. Its really frustrating, depressing hard to to go to all these events and act happy, hard to hear everyone getting pregnant and still act normal. it is really hard especially when people who are not even ready getting pregnant and when you have been ready for months with no luck, Its hard to keep the faith but thats all we got plus ourselves on here. I totally can relate. Everyone says relax it will happen. It’s easier to say after you already had your kids. It’s like what else can we do! I understand you.

Good luck with yr appointment. Stay positive there are too many options to get pregnant and have a baby. A friend of my sis had 5 failed IVF-s, and only IVF PGS NGS worked for her.
