i dont know really what my triggers are. it could be a smell or just a thought, usually i go crazy when i have night mares which why i dont sleep much..its bd when i have these in public... i know people think im crazy. but you know..... i cant help it..
You're not crazy though...something bad happened to you and this is your minds way of self preservation till you figure out how to work it through yourself. My triggers are usually at night too...noises in the house...noises outside of the house...my own thoughts...and my nightmares...My night time ones I haven't quite worked out...but it helps to have someone who knows the situation around or a phonecall away. My triggers in public don't happen as frequently as when things were fresh...but I remember on some of them I could choose to or not choose to face them, others I couldn't help but face them, and others were surprises because I didn't know that they would trigger attacks. The fact that there were ones I had a choice in helped. I knew a certain area would get me lightly panicked, but it was also sometimes the easiest route to where I was going sometimes...I tried to look at it like a challenge...I knew the stress would be short and there wasn't any actual danger there...and chose to drive that route on days I was feeling brave...on days I didn't feel so good I stayed away...but I have faced it now so many times that the thought of driving past there doesn't through me into a heart racing panic anymore and know I can drive down that way any time I want.
