I've had the hardest times through the change of seasons. When the weather turns from hot to cold or cold to hot. I was brought to my knees while shopping in the supermarket. This is so frightening when in public. I find myself getting worse because I panic and my stress level goes up. How do you get yourself through this situation other than dropping everything and heading home?

I noticed that you said that you are affected while shopping. I have found the same thing. When I am in a store the air conditioning affects me adversely.
I have learned that if I have to shop I plan in advance what I need, get in and get out as quickly as possible. (or send my husband).
The least amount of exposure the better.

Have you tried a "cortisone block"? I guess that they have different names for it. Basically it consists of the doctor injecting the affected nerves in your face with cortisone. I feel the pain slightly in season changes now, but since I've been getting these, the pain has not been nearly as severe! My doctor says that I can have these every 3 months, or quarterly. Maybe these could really help you manage your pain. It might be worth asking your doctor about.

My facial pain is similiar to yours constant, the same thing is happening to me i get so nauseated I'm so sorry,I'm having a ruff time too and feeling out of control :( I am going to the doc to try to get some more help :) I hope you will feel better soon.

And yes that is a good idea too with the cortisone shot I have done that, I'm thinking of giving it another try.

Thank you all for your replies... Dulcinea2a, Yes, I did use cortisone blocks in the beginning when my TN Began... That was the only thing that worked at the time. It was a life saver... I haven't gotten the injections since I've been on medication. Do you do both? DRALLAMOM, Thank you for the suggestion.. I do just that now I make a list and stick to it.. It's less stressful.. so I've been doing well... Thank you. Katheryn.. I hope thing are better for you too...

My sister would like to try a cortisone block. Can your primary care doctor do this or should you go to some kind of specialist? Thanks.

I went to a pain clinic that also helped patients with all types of pain. It was in a hospital setting. I hope this helps. :)

My husband is affected by season changes. Hardly goes out in the winter and last night it was too hot. He does nothing outside of the home. He now is taking vitamins only. He stays home, has small pains daily and suffers with anxiety and depression brought on because of change of lifestyle and people lack of understanding. He says if he goes out, they noises in the store, people talking, kids screaming, the lights, the temperature, triggers more pain. He has not even considered going to a Wal Mart since 2009!
