Trigeminal Neuralgia Support Group
Trigeminal neuralgia, or Tic Douloureux, is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw. Trigeminal neuralgia is considered by many to be among the most painful of conditions.
I have a burning sensation but pain so severe that you go into fight or flight response.. You feel like if it doesn't subside you would rather be dead than feel the pain. I don't know if you have the beginning signs of TN but if so I would see a neurologist to be sure it's not just the root canal if things get worse... I hope you feel better
are you seeing a neurologist? or if you have a gen pract. ask him if you could try like neuroton or some other kind of anticonvulsant for nerve pain. if the pain is better you will know it is atn. mine is also atn. sometimes the only way to figure out what is going on is if this type of med helps.
yes it can wax and wane. i am on pain meds along with anticonvulsant.
blessings for pain free days for you
