Trigeminal neuralgia, or Tic Douloureux, is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw. Trigeminal neuralgia is considered by many to be among the most painful of conditions.

HI I JOINED A GYM AND NOW I AM WONDERING IF EXERCISING WILL TRIGGER A TN ATTACK. GOING TO THE GYM ON WEDNESDAY SO I REALLY NEED YOU GUY'S HELP. LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK OR HAVE EXPERIENCED WITH EXERCISING. THANKS HAVE A BLESSED PAINLESS DAY.

if my heart rate gets too high the pounding pain in my face starts so i think i am going to get back to the pool.
10x resistance in water with hopefully less indurance needed. it also keeps me cooler because heat bothers me.

Hi Lameese,
The gym was one of my favorite places to release stress and get everything pumping. Now I'm unable to go once my blood pressure rises or like jlady I get hot my TN goes into full force. Cold is better for me too. But you may not be bothered at all everyone of us is different. Good luck hope it works out for you... :)

Hi! I know my reply is a little late, but wanted to say that my experience has been different than the others above- my pain has been triggered by cold instead of hot. My main trigger at a gym is the air conditioning vents or blowing fans. When steering clear from the direct line of air flow from either of those, the gym has usually been fine for me. Let us know how it worked out for you!
