Trigeminal Neuralgia Support Group
Trigeminal neuralgia, or Tic Douloureux, is a neuropathic disorder of the trigeminal nerve that causes episodes of intense pain in the eyes, lips, nose, scalp, forehead, and jaw. Trigeminal neuralgia is considered by many to be among the most painful of conditions.
Hi, I to have these same symptoms. Mine is random, out of the blue. I got on the Carbamazepine also but could not tolerate the side effects. I have had this for about 4 years and it’s happening more frequently now. I was wanting to try Gabapentin but have been reluctant to try it for fear it will give me the same side effects.
Has anyone tried any medication that works without any side effects? I never know when it’s going to come on, eating a cookie, brushing my teeth, blowing my nose or putting on my makeup.
