Absolutely, right there with you, you're not alone. I'm a 32 year old woman and have struggled with intense trich since I was about 10. I also haven't found tools that have ever worked in the long-run to get it under control - the best thing I've found is as much self-compassion as possible, as this is such a shame-inducing issue. Sorry it always seems to cut my reply short! Sending you love aswell...I know what u mean about self love I'm trying to be kinder to myself and doing more things I enjoy. I hate the damage I've caused yet still can't seem to stop x

Also, I've reaslied who my real friends are during this I'm not sure if that's the same for you aswell it's difficult because a lot of people even close family don't understand x

Absolutely understand what you mean about realizing who truly is there for you, as so many people don't understand or say judgmental things while trying to understand.

And Angizje12, absolutely, it's so hard to tell people, especially people who you care the most about. But that vulnerability is so powerful, and I'm sure that your boyfriend will be grateful to know you on an even deeper, more authentic level. You got this! xx

Hi Pinkhearts. We all know and understand the struggle. I have battle trich for most of my life. I have had periods of having a full head of hair, even years at a time, and other periods where I have had to wear a wig because of pulling my hair out. Happy to see you and others have posted in the last few months, as in the past I see no recent posts. Hope you come back and join us. Good to have support. The forum was very active at one time and a great support. Hoping it will happen again.

I'm 36 and my first memory of pulling is when I was 8. Like trickster, I've had a few semi long spans if time where I had a full head of hair, but it's been so long and I'm struggling to get back there. My husband begs me to wear my hair down or cut it short, but I can't with such a huge blank space. I can't form the words to explain my hesitation to him. Surely he knows, but the embarrassment the comes with this tears me apart.
