Hi,

What is your story? Mine is that Trich seems to be never-ending. I turn 34 on Mon & still remember when I started plucking my eyelashes back in the 6th grade. I still remember my swollen pink eyelid, & still having to go to school the next day. Right now, my upper lids are bare. It takes forever (months) for regrowth. Having fake nails slows me down, but doesn't stop me from pulling. I'm so happy eyeliner is available otherwise I'd never step out of the house.

Hi, EbbiHamp mine is like yours. I have Asperger's. At about 4 I remember thinking my ears would fill in so started picking my ears (dermotillomania). Then at about 6-9 I picked my scalp into bits. Then by about 10 I started pulling eyelashes and eyebrows and had no eyelashes and barely any eyebrows for some time (yes thank god for eyeliner and brow pencil; but then again it was facilitative and I wonder if I might have been more able to resist knowing I COULDN'T cover it up somewhat). I have never managed to stop, only minimize, partly by 'moving' the urge to picking my legs, pulling body hairs, picking my scalp again (instead of eyelashes and brows some of the time). Mirrors are my nemesis. Do mirrors set anyone else off?
