I'm not putting this to gloat, but to encourage.
At the moment I am finding some surprising success with the combination of:
Clomipramine (still on a low dose; when I had to briefly reduce dose due to mouth sores I did witness the hair pulling return; and when I took more again I witnessed it reduce)
Superdrug own brand Trichology scalp conditioner (3 weeks on now and my scalp irritation has 99% gone which has hugely reduced my fingers going up there)
Avoiding mirrors, wheat, sugar, caffeine and glove wearing when stressed out studying.
Got Delia brow henna packet that did work which allowed me to dye what eyebrows I have and stain the thin/bald patches of skin which means I feel more comfortable when do have to pass a mirror (gives me hope and long-term disguise of damage).
I have had only a few slps, mostly not major ones, and think this is the beginning of real progress.
Fingers crossed some other people make progress soon too x

Congratulations!!!!! Slips aren't a problem as long as you are taking more steps forward than backward I think. I'd be surprised if you have much long term damage. Given time, most seems to grow back I'm finding... but I'm only a couple weeks into my own try to control this thing, so I'm certainly no expert.

Thanks 50 years. Yes regrowth is looking positive. I'm sure yours will be too!

Have rather gone backwards RE pulling since finding out Grandma has got a lot sicker. Mum died in May and now her Mum (my Gran) is ALSO dying of cancer. She is being so so so difficult, she won't tell the carers the truth about how sick she is, she sent the wheelchair and commode away, even though she now can't actually physically get off the sofa and use her zimmer frame and won't eat (she also has 1 leg, 1 working eye, and is reliant on an oxygen machine as she is down to a fraction of a lung from the lung cancer). And at the same time as battling with this (trying to get her to be realistic and co operate and let me and carers help her) I must not screw up my degree : ( Haven't made any huge holes in my new eyelashes or eyebrows yet but I keep finding my hands up there...

Sorry to hear of the loss of your mother, and about your grandmother's diagnosis and reluctance to accept help. Very difficult and stressful times for you. Hang in there. Keep coming to the forum for support.
