just had a really bad episode of hair pulling, the worst I've had in a long time, I've been sat crying for the majority of the day, my eyes are so sore from the pulling I feel ashamed and I hate myself for doing it, I just want to stop for good

I read that having someone to talk to can help, especially people going through the same.. if there's anyone out there who could talk over email and listen, and hopefully help eachother to stop the urges please reply because I'm out of options

Been there and will try to explain my process as best as I can. Getting it out could be therapeutic. This is how I relapsed... I was stressing over schoolwork, having an ugly argument w/my partner, felt uneasy, stressed, worthless, hopeless, helpless, like FUK it. I went upstairs to the study, laid on the couch, pinched my thumb and 'bird finger' together and plucked, looked to it to see how many were on my fingers, then wiped them on my t-shirt. Okay...I got one. How do I feel?..not too bad, inhale/exhale...repeat...got 2 that time. Okay. One more then I will stop... Damnit...do it again. Stop fool.! Why are you doing this? I don't know but it feels...... ? I don't know how it feels....Why are you doing this? One more... get up and go look at your eyelids. GAPS...huge gaps...oh no here we go again...I kept up this cycle until there were no more lashes to pluck. Eyelids swollen, embarrassed, angry, sad, feeling pitiful... I cried myself to sleep.

I woke up early on the morning and found this group.

This post is my attempt to get some dialogue going...talking it out. Hopefully, it will lead to some thought about what's going on when the plucking is taking place and help find a way to do what our heart desires....STOP
