I hope you don't mind me posting this, but have you considered meds? My daughter is on clomipramine and it is working, so I'm just trying to get the word out...
I know that not every type of medicine reacts the same with everyone and there may very well be a medicine that would be great for me, but I can't afford to keep trying them out and sacrificing my school work. I will be in school the next 5 years and so until I'm done i'm just too nervous to keep trying them with my past experience.
I was doing a lot better when I was in therapy, but I had to change schools and move to another city and so I had to stop therapy. I will be looking for a new therapist at the beginning of fall but I've definitely noticed I have been worse lately!
The Clomipramine was kind of rough on my daughter at first. We started at 25mg, and then went up by another 25mg every five days. At first, it gave her terrible dry mouth and made her dizzy. Sometimes we could not add at the 5 day mark, and once we had to go back down because she was really dizzy and had to come home from dance class. So, for the most part, she would get over the side effects, and then we would increase the dose and they would come back for a while. FInally, when we got to 200mg, the pulling stopped. She has been at 200mg for about 2 months, and the side effects have gone away. Of course, she was dealing with 6th grade instead of grad school (-:
