I feel like i have tried just about everything as well! i haven't heard of anything new but what worked best for me was having someone around me or being around people as often as possible (I only pull when im alone because of embarrassment/shame), and keeping my hair wrapped in a scarf so i cant get to it.
But I also think it is something that can be controlled. I'm now 10 and a bit months pull free after pulling non stop for the best part of 20 years (I'm 30 now). It's still a daily battle, but I now have my hair back to the point that I can wear it however I want.
There are lots of things that contribute to / make trich worse, but at it's root it's a behaviour disorder that works it's way into all parts of our life. Correcting it requires patience and a plan.
I've posted in other parts of this forum about what has been working for me, but if you'd like to chat about it in more detail feel free to get in touch.
