-There are times when I only see myself with this condition, and there are times when I see myself as me, someone who is beautiful and kooky and wonderful. Depending on my mood and what I'm doing, it varies how much I can be me.
-I almost always can still be happy even if I'm at a bad spot with pulling, or at least do things that make me happy. I still run, write, and paint, usually because I know they will make me happy in spite of the fact I'm pulling.
-I don't 'isolate' myself if I'm going to be with people I don't know very well because I don't care what they think, but in terms of going to pool parties with people who are close friends who don't know, for example, I don't. I say no to situations where I might be embarrassed because of my bald spots the majority of the time. My church was going to an overnight youth camp and I declined going because of trich. The people in my youth group are people I like and even if I feel like I trust them I don't want them to find out about this side of me and see me differently.
But it's important to note that this can change at different times. Some days I don't care what other people think, regardless of who they are, and do whatever I want, and some days I don't even want the dog to see me like I am.
Hope that made sense....
