If you pull at night (in your sleep), wear gloves. Thats what I did as a child.
I tend to mindlessly pull while I'm sitting doing nothing. Keep your hands busy and you won't find yourself wandering back to pulling.

Mine would happen when I was feeling bad about something. Once I realized I was pulling, I would just tell myself no every time my hand went to pull. Building up my self esteem has helped a lot since I find with better self esteem, the need for pulling has lessened. Another trick was to wear a small rubber band on my wrist and every time I wanted to pull, I would give a snap (enough to hurt a bit) and that got me to lessen the pulling rather quickly.
