Luvox
Risperdal (I do NOT recommend trying this one!)
Revia
Topamax (still taking this one for migraines, coincidentally)
some of which did seem to help at first, but eventually the end result was the same in every case. Unfortunately, there just doesn't seem to be an effective medication for the treatment of Trichotillomania...at least, not yet. Or, in my case, anyway.
The only time I have been completely pull-free was during my late teens and my twenties; and I have no idea how I stopped or why I started again. Amazingly enough, I was able to completely forget I ever had the disorder during that time of my life - of course until it came back around again. It's such a hard thing to understand...even for those of us who suffer from it.
Hopefully, you will have some success with the Lithium.
Also, have you tried DBT (dialectical behavioral therapy)?
I found it to be more helpful for trichotillomania (as well as managing anxiety and intrusive thoughts) than meds...and it's just great therapy in general. The downside is it's quite expensive and insurance almost never covers it.
Either way, keep us posted!
