Trich and Skin Picking Recovery Community Group
This group is for anyone who is on the path to recovery from Trichotillomania (Trich) or Compulsive Skin Picking (CSP) and wants to document their individual journey in a supportive environment. Recovery is often two steps forward, one step back, and most of us DO pick and pull on the road to recovery. Feel free to make your own Recovery Thread, you can title it...

Feel free to ask any questions :)
As a person who struggles with self-worth, self-esteem, and self-value, I will add to the statement C posted about wanting change for your self. It's so important to understand that we, ourselves, and only us, can make the change inside where it begins and ends.
That is awesome that you have the steadfast support of your boyfriend! Hurrah!
CBT is a long-term project, and can be done on your own, with workbooks, and self-help journals. I am having success with CBT, however, it's been a long, long, exhausting, overwhelming, and difficult journey to reach the CBT level, and the path to healing is full of sidebars, guilt, shame, embarrassment, and more for me. I understand not being open to the therapist, because when you're ready for yourself, you're open to the suggestions, whether you agree or disagree, and have a plan of action to work on at home outside of the office visits.
Best wishes, welcome to the group, and know you are not alone in this!
