What about the spouses or partners of Transgenders

I wonder, does anyone think about the thoughts and feelings of the spouse/partner of a transgender? It seems to me that too many focus on the transgender persons thoughts and feelings and some how the spouses/partners are forgotten.

There's a board here for the spouses, partners, and S.O.'s of transgenders. It was set up specifically to offer support for them, and the parents and any other concerned people with friends/relatives/ partners/S.O.s who are transgender.

To some degree I agree and on another I don't. You are right that the onlookers will worry more about the person going through it as a course of caring for the person with the condition (This goes for anything). Very rarely is the person with them considered as they are thought to be fine. In the case of the couple within, the person going through whatever is usually focused more on the other and vice versa. So from the outside you are right, everyone forgets the spouse of the person, but from the inside I do not believe that's the norm. Questions is whether or not the outside people are really that important that who they focus on is of importance. That said this group has had many spouses come through and we do as much to support them as their mate. Joe has a group listed that is good as well and for that specifically.

I will also add, in my case, I get more questions about how my mate is doing with it than I do about how I am doing with it. I just don't think they ask her directly. So that may be a consideration too.

Thank you Joe and Wynd.

I completely understand how you feel. I'm going through the very same thing right now. I feel tossed aside like yesterday's trash. People are far more interested in the changes my husband will be going through, than all the pain this situation has caused me. Very lonely place to be right now.

YES!!! it is the biggest problem I have have right now. My wife hates the fact I am transgender. I while I come to terms with who and what I am. In fact I feel better about myself than I ever have, or I may even say I feel alive for the first time in my life. But this is very hard on my wife and our relationship, and in term hard on me. As I hate what this is doing to her. Which makes me feel worse than I ever have. So I feel better than I ever have and worse than I ever have at the same. So I fear I will lose the woman I love or the woman I am It is a lose lose situation

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
