Transgender Support Group
This community is here to support and help the large population of transgender people. If you or anyone you know identify as transgender, this is the place to share your feelings and experiences and speak with others who are going through similar things in their lives.
For you. Unfortunately there isn't a whole lot of things I can do for you to help you with it. Educating yourself is the biggest thing and you have already started, I mean you are here. Some other sources you might want to read are the WPATH Standards of Care, which are the recommended guidelines for treating someone who is trans. You can also look up the DSM-V diagnostics for gender dysphoria if you choose, which is the criteria on which a mental health professional uses to determine the diagnosis. Lastly a book called "True Selves" by Mildred Brown (link below on amazon). I gave a copy of this to my mom to read to help her understand it a bit better. It did help her some. Hopefully this info helps you and maybe even Tinkerbella who responded before. Take care and I wish you both the best.
