Transgender Support Group
This community is here to support and help the large population of transgender people. If you or anyone you know identify as transgender, this is the place to share your feelings and experiences and speak with others who are going through similar things in their lives.
As to your parents directly, again if you are living with them or under 18 you are kinda stuck, but only so long as you live there. You need to sit down and discuss it with them CALMLY. If you go off screaming, aggressive, argumentative, so on they are going to stop listening. Educate them on what it means to be trans, get them to send you to a therapist who can diagnose you and possibly talk to them as well. Maybe make adjustments to what you consider "dressing as a woman or man" and maybe instead of going all heels and dresses, go jeans tennisshoes and tshirt but female cuts. something like that. There can be compromise but if you live with them end of the day it is their house and as such their rules. If they wont budge then you need to focus on education and getting a good job to get out of there. At that point they cant do a bloody thing really. Depending on how long ago you told them they may still be dealing with shock, so if you like told them Monday, they aren't going to let you switch a lightswitch. This is new to them and they need to process this. It may be something with you, but make no mistake it effects every living soul who deals with you. So in that case their resistance is that they are still trying to grapple with the first step of you having came out. Anyhow. I am going to stop this for now as its to broad and I can go on for a long time over all the options, but hopefully what is here is helpful.
