So I am curious, do you live with her? If so then she can suck it, there's nothing that she can do to you. You're over 18, if you are in the USA there are no laws against being transgendered so she can call the police all she wants they are just going to laugh at her. So if she is actually and truly being unsupportive then you don't need to worry and just say hey this is how it is, you don't like it fine we wont speak. If you live with her then you really need to get on your own. As to the name thing with her. If all she is doing is using your old name then you may be being a bit to hard on her. You have known this all your life and she learned about it a matter of 3 months ago. You are 34, your mother has 34 years of memories and habit to rewrite. At her probable age creating new memories is slow let alone rewriting new ones. I transitioned at 32 when I started. I am 41 now and my mom still uses my old name. I can only assume you haven't radically changed how you are dressing and such and thus she sees the same person she has for 32 years. I dress in the same clothing styles I always did, my mom forgets. She isn't doing it to be malicious, she is doing it because she's getting up there. My mom does make attempts. She does try to call me daughter, she and such but the name is more times than not (70% old 30% new) my old birth name. I don't know for sure your situation because there wasn't to much detail but you are going to have to come to terms with that element. In the end, your clothing, your name, your hair, your makeup so on does not make the woman, it is what is inside. You can do everything you want on the outside but until you are absolutely dead set on what you are inside to where the other stuff don't really bother you, your going to look in the mirror and see the old you staring back. So work on that. Know you are Jane, Karen, Stephanie, whatever, through and though, if you happen to have a name like Sam, consider yourself lucky, because Sam is short for Samantha and hey being called Sam isn't an issue. In the end if you know you are Karen and someone calls you Frank, does it really matter? you know who you are who cares what they think.

well 34 is old enough and young enough to start a new life.maybe your mother uses your lack of experience to control you. time to get some job training. if your truly disabled you can get disability but you dont need you mom the rest of your life. someday she will be gone anyway. so why wait that long?quit complaining and take control of your life. sounds to me your not going to change her so if this dysphoria is as strong as you claim you must go where you can live the life you wish but if you remain home you got to follow your mothers rules its that simple. so stop fighting, you have your choice, its either you or her.
