Transgender Support Group
This community is here to support and help the large population of transgender people. If you or anyone you know identify as transgender, this is the place to share your feelings and experiences and speak with others who are going through similar things in their lives.
Now the question is: Do YOU want this child, or is it that your body is insisting that it feels it needs to reproduce. This is an important question, as it can change just how much you'll love & care about a child you would have.
I guess another question is: Does your wife want a child as well? Parenthood is a not a solo process. It takes 2 parents to successfully raise a child, and it's best to not put this on your spouse if she doesn't want to be a mom.
I know these are questions you've probably already asked, just thought it might be nice to hear it from a trans-mom who's been down that road. My wife & I have two wonderful boys, and I wouldn't trade parenthood for the world! But I know not everyone craves parenthood. I've always loved children, and knew I would be a decent parent. Having a child cause you feel you 'need' to have one, not that you 'really' want to have one, is not the best intentions on parenthood.
Take care!
The whole thing is such a big, scary challenge, is all...and my parents basically guaranteed I'm going to be in and out of therapy for the rest of my life-they did an atrocious job all around of raising me.
I'm pretty sure I can do better, I've worked on myself a lot.
I would have figured out I was androgyne years earlier if my dad had not been ...well, evil.
The only thing I dislike about presenting in a rather masculine fashion...is looking more like him...He was physically and sexually abusive. On bad days I look in the mirror and see him... It's creepy.
