So guys I go into this transgender chatroom. And what I am about to share, I want everyone's opinion on. I just wanna make sure I am not the only one who thinks this.
So a month or so ago, I am in this chatroom and this girl I have known since 2009 or so is in there, and apparently if you get an orchiectomy and the doctor words it a certain way Florida will change your birth certificate to female. Now that's cool and everything, but when I tell someone else in the room I am postop (meaning I have had FULL sexual reassignment surgery) she jumps in and says she is postop as well. Now I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer or anything, but when the hell did getting your balls chopped off constitute for being postop in the traditional sense? Am I the only person who thinks that to call one's self a postop MtF transsexual, you need to have sexual reassignment surgery, not an orchiectomy? Oh and then she gets mad when I tell her that she isn't postop that she just has a shriveled up dick and no balls. She gets way too defensive. But yet I think (not sure since it's been a while since the conversation) other girls in the room took my side on the whole argument and told her she isn't postop.
Now it's your guys' turn, do you consider having an orchiectomy (castration for those who don't know the medical term) to make you postop? Or do you believe having full SRS means you're postop?
Personally I don't think this girl has any room to call herself a postop until she gets SRS.

SRS means post op, castration means per-emtive strike against cancer.

Not only are we on the same level but, I think SRS also costs more then castration. SRS is between 10,000 to 20,000 dollars depending on where you go. I doubt castration costs over 5,000.

Well from what you saying post OP really just means that you've had a surgery but of the context of the conversation was srs (sex reassignment surgery) then you are correct but ode rather go full srs because even with the twins chopped off there's still a package

I have read about orchiectomies and what I read was that it is better to wait until the main srs is done as opposed to getting the orchiectomy before complete SRS for MtF is done. A doctor wrote the article and said that by waiting and doing the complete surgery that it has a much better outcome. So this girl you were talking about unwittingly jumped the gun and if she had waited for the full SRS at one time she would have have a much better surgery. I don't remember the site but I found it by doing a search on orchiectomy. I briefly thought about getting one until I read what the Dr.(surgeon) said about it and then I thought no way.

Yeah my surgeon said the same thing. Basically, because there is nothing there to stretch the skin of the sack, it can shrivel up and will not give you as much depth and whatever else is said about it. I mean I had tachycardia my first go around so they had to discard my scrotal tissue which they said had to be used to give me more depth since I would have only gotten 2 inches of depth. So now that it's complete I am only 2 inches deep. But that's fine, I am not looking to have sex as is. So maybe if I do get involved with someone I might get more depth added, but as for now 2 inches is fine with me. Anything is better than having a shlong swinging between my legs. lol

I couldn't have said it better shiftinggal, I rather not have it either. But I can't afford the expensive surgery, and some doctors have been known to screw the surgery up and make it worse. But since you got SRS, I am sure your a lot happier now. And I assume the estrogen gave you breasts, you didn't have to get surgery for that too right?

They gave me itty bitties, but I might get surgery for a full C, since that's my desired size. :] Right now I am like a large A or small B depending on bra make.

(Shiftinggal) Medical science is making some incredible strides in what they can do just wait a couple of years and and you will see. Did you get a pacemaker to help with tachycardia or was it temporary ? I read that they help.

It was temporary, they couldn't find anything wrong with my heart, but they prescribed me beta blockers to help keep my heart rate down.
