Transgender Support Group
This community is here to support and help the large population of transgender people. If you or anyone you know identify as transgender, this is the place to share your feelings and experiences and speak with others who are going through similar things in their lives.
Hey all! Fairly new here. I'm interested in talking about similar experiences. I've been really focusing on how I feel lately, and for a long while I feel like I've been sitting in the backseat of my own life. I'm trying to decode a lot of emotions I'm going through, but I'm not sure how well I'm doing.
I have always felt very masculine, and when I was in primary and secondary school I would love to make a big show of how much of a tomboy I was. Looking back I've always felt like an inbetweener, and I wouldn't mind when a teacher or a store clerk would call me a boy. Even now, as a 19 y/o, I love feeling masculine in front of others. It makes me relaxed to dress male. Sometimes I even think my voice is wrong, like something's wrong with my nose and my voice is too high and nasal. I'm not really sure how to go about this. I feel like all this means something, but talking to myself feels so cyclical.
I feel that if I was transgender, it would feel so much more cut-and-dry and simpler than how this feels. I don't mind a good self-discovery session, but going over this has made me rather stressed the last few weeks. I feel like if I just had a definition or a word for how I feel it would be easier to work out.
Does this hit home to anybody else? Am I in the wrong support group??
