Hey all, I don't know if this is allowed or appropriate, so if it isn't I'm sorry. I'm a cisgender lesbian, and my partner is thinking (from what I can tell pretty seriously) about transitioning, socially but probably not medically. The reason I bring this up here is that I'm starting a group here for people like me who might be struggling with their partners' transition or thoughts about transitioning. If you know anyone who might be helped by this group, please let them know; it's called Partners of Transitioning People. Thanks!

Awesome, I think you can find it through my profile or just search for it. I don't honestly know what I'll have to say or what direction the group will take (I just found this site a few days ago and didn't see anything that fit my situation) but I'm open to whatever you want to discuss. Just really looking for someone who is going through something similar.

I'm 39, but my partner just came out as trans a few months ago and is as transitioned as he's going to get at this time. That's my entire experience.

I’m interested. My partner just dropped this on me 2 weeks ago. We’ve been together over 20 years & have 2 teenage daughters. She’s been thinking about this for 2 years but kept it to herself, because she knew how I feel about it. She is unclear what she wants to do, but is considering taking “t.” Every time we talk it seems something new comes out. I’m struggling with this and my feelings regarding my own hard fought identity as a lesbian. We are “older” (50) and came of age as lesbian feminists... I’ve been feeling frustrated about the lack of support for women in my situation. There seems to be plenty of support groups for trans people and groups for partners to learn how to better support their trans loved ones, but what about us? I’ve been feeling so lonely and unsupported. This is uncharted territory, and I could use some understanding friends.

I'm also interested, I think there is very little support for partners of ftm and would love somewhere to go for support
