I AM OUT BUT WITH A COST

I'm glad to say that I finally walked away from the mental, emotional and sometimes physical abuse from my wife. I took me several years to get the courage to get the strength to walk away but it came at a cost of loosing my family as I am consider dead to them , having no contact with my kids only with her ,hearing her fantasies of un truths , It hurts not hearing from my two boys , she says that they won't understand, I just don't know.


I do know that it has been 50 days since I have been out of the closet and looking forward to my first appointment with the doctors at the Mazzoni Center in Philadelphia to continue on my path towards my transitioning in becoming a female,  another step closer. I must say that I am thankful for a friend that opened her home to a complete stranger without second guessing,  I will say I felt leary not knowing the unknown because people just say things and not mean it. But I'm happy that she did keep her promise to me as I am keeping my promise to her in helping her around the house . A big thanks to her and her family in leting me into there home .

Im glad you have a safe place and a place that can be supportive of what you will be going through and are now. The ex wife is likely to always be spiteful and unless she has full custody you can actually fight her for the rights to see/contact your kids. That will be up to you if you wish to pursue that. In any case once they reach the age of 13 there is nothing she can really do to stop them from contacting you. This is coming from someone whos parents divorced when I was very young and is how I know all of this. Today is not finite, things will change over time and they will get better in the rough areas that exist now. Try to be happy with what you have and pick up those pieces as you can. I hope your appointment goes well with the doctors and I wish you the best.

It takes tremendous courage to leave an abusive situation. Amazing that you have done this as well as take first steps to transition.

You have a lot to get through, but you got this far and you can handle this rest. In my life.strangers.have.often stepped up and been amazing helpers. Remember that help sometime down the road when you have the opportunity to be the helper.

Keep being the courageous woman you already are. You have already done the hardest piece of transition in that alone. You doc and social worker will have great ideas for resources to get additional help.
