Transgender Support Group
This community is here to support and help the large population of transgender people. If you or anyone you know identify as transgender, this is the place to share your feelings and experiences and speak with others who are going through similar things in their lives.
I'm a young FTM, and I have been identifying that way for over a year. So far I've only told a couple of close friends, even though I have a very supportive family. My issue isn't that I don't know if it's what I want, after a year I'm very sure, but I'm not sure it will be what I want in the future. I would always go back if it doesn't work out, but I don't want to put that stress on my family and community. I told a teacher and they were sure that it was just hormones, and that I'd be more feminine once I "grew into it." I want to move forward with my transition, but with these doubts it's been difficult. Any shared experiences of advice would be greatly appreciated.
Ultimately this journey is yours alone and if down the road you decide not to proceed then that is your choice, don't worry too much about your family. They love you and will continue to love you no matter what.
