Transgender Support Group
This community is here to support and help the large population of transgender people. If you or anyone you know identify as transgender, this is the place to share your feelings and experiences and speak with others who are going through similar things in their lives.
I hope you can find a way to overcome this challenge, we're always here for you to help.
I understand where your coming from (i think at least). I am a very "manly" person who likes working with wood, landscaping, mechanics, so on. When people hear that the person they thought was their son is actually their daughter it can shocking and as some have mentioned it will get complicated. You may lose a few friends because they simply can't understand. However, some people will realize that you are still the same person on the inside that they loved, just happier, and they will continue to love you.
People might surprise you with how they might come around. You may lose people but the bonds you keep and the new ones you make will be ten times stronger. The important thing is to be you and be happy. Don't let the fear of denial keep you from being great, everyone has to overcome that fear and it is really difficult. The transition period is extremely hard but it does get easier overtime!
Hope this helps, please feel free to message me if you ever want to talk.
With love,
Hollie
Hang in there and be who you want to be!
I am in a steady relationship with a transgender MTF who just came out in January at the age of 45. Her family has been very supportative and I love her with all my heart!
