I am finally ready to start my transition> I have set up an appointment to start my meds. It took years to finally take this step forward. I wish I had started earlier because I have always known who I am. But being accepted for being transgendered in the past was just not a thing. It is much better now and it has given me the courage and strength to finally become the woman I was supposed to be. I am stilled scared and would appreciate any help or guidance I can get.

sorry it took 3 days for you to get a response. it is a scary thing especially in the political situation currently in various places in the world. Not just in the USA. If you have more specific questions please feel free to ask, I try to check in here regularly and do my best to answer what I feel I can. Transition itself is manageable, just understand you have all the time in the world so only move at a rate you feel okay with. don't rush anything don't feel like you have to get everything done tomorrow. Life will go a lot smoother and feel a whole lot less out of control when you get to that point. One of the biggest things is something you can work on yourself and that is understanding that all the makeup, surgeries, clothing and so on in the world isn't going to make you who you are. You have to see it within yourself, So you need to be able to look in the mirror and see a woman looking back. This is going to be difficult, its going to take time, but it is one of the most critical things to succeeding because you can look like a model and be stunning, but if you feel like a man in drag that is exactly what everyone is going to see. If you can see a woman looking back at you in the mirror without question, you can wear mens clothing and no one will see anything but a woman. That's the biggest piece of advice I can give.

Hollygirl, Congratulations, on being willing to step out on your knowledge of who you are. One word of advice, get ready for the emotion ride of your life, as your body gets used to the hormones. Just be patient with yourself, and Puberty, second verse, will pass.

Hollgirl, congratulations on starting your transition. I have been through it all and now I am a female. I had the surgery almost 3 yrs ago it was a long process I went through. It took 12 yrs. before I had the surgery done.
I wish you luck in all the world, once you start the meds. and you have the surgery you will feel a lot better with yourself and much happier with your life.
