I'm sorry that you have to go through that. Probably the best thing you can do now is start saving up, it'll be difficult without help, but if you start saving now, you'll be able to get enough money to do the surgeries yourself. Once you turn 18, there are some insurance programs (At least where I am) that will cover parts of the surgeries, though not all of them, of course things are different because I'm MTF, but I believe that with some time and dedication, you can get the surgeries, and the body you belong in.

Bro your not alone on this one. I 100% relato to you! I just turned 15 and I'm ftm. I came out to my parents as well like two months ago and there not taking it well either. They say It's just a "phase". I'm currently struggling with dysphoria too, and i think I have depression as well. So don't worry, cause I totally relate to you.

Focus on school, use them as far as you need to for educational reasons and get a good job then get the heck out of dodge. Fact is when you turn 18 they cant do anything to stop you from doing what you want. That said you live under their roof so you do have to keep that in mind, but if you can pay the bills you could go to therapy and such and do whatever you want. Fact is that dysphoria is an incongruence between mind and body, so first and foremost you have to whole heartedly know you are who you are. Right now you are seeing the outside and fretting over it because it is casting doubt on you internally. Don't let it. I know it sounds easier said than done, but even if you started say testosterone today, you are still a long way from that body being altered. Even if you had a mastectomy, you are still a ways from the bottom surgery, All that time you will be trying to present yourself as a man and doubting yourself. Lacking that confidence will get you outed more than anything else. So have conviction you are a man, know it through and through. it will help the dysphoria and get a good education and career because transition and making a living is seriously spendy.

i see your 17 years old, in less then a year you will be old enough to do what ever you wish. so really its just a matter of a short time and you have your freedom to be the person you want to be. i have done this so i'll get you started, you must see your family doctor, the one you normally see. tell him or her what you are feeling and a eval will follow and the solution will ensue . the normal treatment for gender dysphoria is gender transition. you will then need to show that you are a woman and willing to live the rest of your life as one. thats the only way you would ever qualify for SRS. but really i know of no medical insurance that will pay for this , it something you must pay for. its really costly costing more the 60k so most trans genders stay pre-op. thats where i am, i qualify but dont have the money but have the desire. what female hormones do to your male plumbing makes it kind of useless anyway. you cant have the best of both worlds, after a year of blocking testosterone, and wearing panties your testes all but disappear moving up inside you shrink in size and your scrotum almost disappears . erections are very rare, and incomplete, orgasms wont happen. thats at least what i found so far i have not had therecourse in a while so im not sure what will happen. Iknow you didnt ask about all this sorry i got carried away, just telling you what you can expect when you do get the chance to live your dream. hope my imfo helps you.....Annie

I'm on the same boat as well buddy and I am 21. it sucks, I feel you. my mom thinks I'm crazy for wanting surgery. I don't even know how to explain to them what I am cuz they are some traditional Chinese parents and I'm American born. it's frustrating. I just want to start t and get top surgery so bad.

so very sorry , i got sort of mixed up , and called you a woman when i should said sire didnt mean to, anyway the process is the same changing gender involves eval, HRT proven commitment then a eval again then SRS. to which is generally never covered by almost all health insurances. so a vast majority of trans remain pre-op. this makes me and the rest of us feel unfinished or incomplete, it can make you depressed at times.but that you must live with that, i know being a M/F trans costs about 60k for basic and up to 100k to get it all done right. if i started saving now i will be ready when i get about 200 years old. anyway ill apologize again it was not my intent to insult, just wanted to help.
