So this is my first time posting here so ill give a little back story. Right now im a 35 y/o male, but as far back as i can remeber I have always felt different. Then around my teenage years I finally figured out what it was that I wanted. To be a girl. But back in the 90's there wasnt a lot of support for transgendered people. So I suppressed my feelings and put on a manly facade. I played sports and all that through high school to be one of the guys knowing what i really wanted was to be one of the girls. So after high school i joined the marine corps. Now i  kind of bitter sweet about it. I had great times and bad times bit it was a life experience. Nearing the end of my first four years i was able to move out of the barracks and into an apartment of my own. Perfect time in my life to explore my feelings which i did. I bought make up and dresses and girl clothes that didnt really fit mostly cause i was nervous about buying womens clothes. So i was doing that and then I meet a woman and thought hey I can live my life vicariously through her Not bad idea. We were married for 13 years and i was almost "outed" on three different occasions. But for some reason she never believed me. So we continued on with our marriage. We were never to have kids of our own so we adopted two wonderful boys. But then came the fateful day that i was forced out of the military due to cut backs. So i had agreedto move to where she was from in GA. I went in to a deep depression cause all i wanted to do was dress in her clothes cause hey now i wasnt bound by the constraints of the military any more. The depression got worse and worse. I alienated myself from my family and drove them away which ended in my now ex wife cheating on my and ending our marriage. Now we try to remain friend for our boys but its not easy. So i know what your thinking perfect time to transition right? Wrong in our divorce I retained custody of the older of our boys and she got the younger. So now i have my son and feel compelled to make his house hold a stable one cause he has some mental disabilities. So i started dating and got a girlfriend and she moved in with me. Now we are living together with her 2 boys and my son. I have been thinking a lot lately about myself and my sexuality cause i am still in my depression. Then today they come out with the thing that president trump is going to repeal the thing about transgenders serving in the military. And she tells me that she didnt agree with it in the first place and a man is born a man and a woman is born a woman and no other. Also saying that she wouldnt take it if her some came to her and said i want to be a girl. Cause i was working up the courage to say something but that just crushed it.  Sorry for being so long winded and putting my lifes story out there. I have never talking to anyone about this ever. This fourm will be my first step in seeking anything trans. I guess the big thing im searching for is for someone to tell me im not a freak for feeling this way and that it can be normal.
