This community is here to support and help the large population of transgender people. If you or anyone you know identify as transgender, this is the place to share your feelings and experiences and speak with others who are going through similar things in their lives.
So I met someoone on YouTube back in the day that I have had added on Facebook for the longest time. I won't mention names because he told me not to mention it on his timeline because he lives in a redneck area, but basically he told me that I inspired him to be who he is, that he came out to his mom as transgender in 2012. He doesn't live in his desired role because of work and people in general. When I say he, I mean MtF still living in the opposite role of which desired. I told him I wouldn't bring up the proper pronouns because again the area he lives in.
It literally made my day to know that as someone who is 25 and been postop since 5 days before turning 23, that I have inspired someone else to come out, at the very least to their mother, as transgender. His mom is cool and said "you're telling me something I already knew."
Has anyone else had someone tell you that you inspired them to be who they are? Did it make your day?

Yeah i have many times. Especially way back in the 90's when transgender was not even a word and I had come out s FTM in the gay community and had been ousted, I found the straight folks to be nicer to me.
Long story short, several FTMs who had lived as lesbians when I had come out told me that during that time I was the talk of the town, I had no idea I had been the subject of discussion at meetings and potlucks for months after I had left the community.
Anyway, those now FTMs came up to me to thank me for having left the community on my terms and it ended up inspiring them to address their own issues. One of them was the ex of one of my exes.
I do not see it as making my day perhaps but it made me feel validated after that much crap thrown at me during that era. And yes, I shall always be the first FTM to come out publicly in the 90's in my area and that no one can ever take that away from me.
