Happy New Years everyone, and now share with you some updates what's been going on in my life.. what a great start the New Years day, but moved in a new apartment. Moving from my old apartment and into my new one was not fun, having no one to help me, as a result I wound up leaving my heavy belongings left behind for the garbage. Anyway, just in case some of you don't already know that, the judge has approved my name change paperwork. Just when I thought that it was finally over.. nope, there are 5 more things that the judge wants me to do, but in a short amount of time. One morning I visited my social security office to update everything and make a few changes, however social security will not change my gender marker to the letter F, I need a letter from the surgeons to confirmed that I had the SRS (which I have not) oh no does this means that my mailing address is going to be Mr.Rhonda! I'll scream!

Oh no. That's terrible! I hope you get new furniture and whatever you need soon. That's such a shame you had to leave it all behind. But you can look at it as a completely fresh start. =)
About your name, though.. I know that is tough. I'm sorry to hear that. You'll always be Ms. Rhonda to those who know and love you. Not mr. We all know the truth and that you are female whether they choose to acknowledge it or not.

These people are so transparant, they litterally use weather you got a vagina or penis as the deciding factor on what they put your gender as in the official document. Its the exact same mindset that prevents us from using oppisette gender bathrooms. Officially changing your name is clearly no easy process either, I certainly will not be going through that, nor SRS.

Generally the Social security office won't send mail with a suffix attached. Once in a while they may within the document itself however it is a policy they have gotten away from. I do still find it funny that they won't change your Gender (which they no longer issue out to ANYONE anymore) but you can go get a passport with the new gender with a letter from a doctor.

Does your state allow pre-op gender changes to birth certificates? I am curious because Mine just started to allow that, so if and when I am ready to face court again, I can get a court order change before surgery, I wonder if that would mean that the social security administration would have to change it? Might be something worth trying if I decide to get the birth cert done before surgery. I am just putting it off because I REALLY don't want to go to court all over again.
