Hi I'm new here and I need help coming out to my parents as transgender. I'm still a teenager and I am really scared about what they'll think. I already cross-dress and my mom hates it. I've come out to my friends and they accept me completely, its just my mom I'm worried about. We have never been very close and she has never been very accepting of me. My dad probably wont mind though because he understands me a lot better. I am just really scared and I don't know what to do anymore... Does anyone have any advice for how I should tell them? I'm really scared... Thanks in advance...

(P.S) - I'm a trans guy if anyone was wondering...

I don't know if there is any one way to come out, but if you think your dad will be more excepting, maybe try telling him first. If there are people in your family that are more excepting start with them and maybe graduate to your mom. It is up to you how you tell people and who you tell. i was actually needing help on this as well. but I think the best way to go is just blurt it out over a nice meal or somethin like that. Thats how i told bro, but man Karkat was a bitch about it for the longest time.

Actually, blurting it out at the family meal is not the best of choices. Its better to tell people in your family one on one. Meaning, go in private and tell one person at a time. This way it leaves out the possibility of emberessement one might feel. And if you use a nice quiet tone, you just might find support where you thought it didn't exist.
