The initial stage of hormone treatment is a rather unnerving one, I'm afraid. If your feature are fine, (by this I mean very female), there is not much you can do until the hormones refines them for you by way of redistributing your mass. The only think you can do is bind your breasts and get a haircut.
Waiting to pass may be a second option. You can go to a barber shop and ask for a haircut, as he would do a guy cut. If he asks why, say that's how you like it, if he doesn't want to tell him you'll go elsewhere, that usually ends the issue. I never cut my hair in a hair salon in all my days. I even got a buzz cut one year by a barber while not on hormones.
And the hormones should start redefining your muscle mass between six months and a year, specially if you have not had a hysterectomy.
If you say, "Oh dang it, that long?" Think of it this way, you've lived like this a long time, you can wait a bit longer. I understand the urge but sometimes patience is the best policy, specially when it comes to transitioning, after all you'll have bigger fish to fry once you begin passing as a man. A rude awakening would be an understatement.
So enjoy the lull while you can because after that, you'll have to adjust to living as a man among men born men and it is not for the faint hearted. Take it from this old wolf.
Hope this helps,
Wolf (FTM since 1987)
