I need some advice

Hey guys, so this is the worst time to tell my parents that whats been going on is tics. They think i'm doing it for attention. I really don't know what to do. I guess I have a bad reputation, but im not sure why. I have not done anything that bad before. I just want help from them.

My dad did the same thing for the first year maybe until he spent an extended time with me he realised maybe I’m not doing it for attention I think part of his problem he didn’t understand it maybe it’s the same with your parents

I was told the same thing as a kid. Have you seen a neurologist? Is that something your parents will do for you? If not, is there another family member who can speak to them on your behalf? Can you express to your parents that no one would ever do this and make themselves the target of bullies and taunting for attention!
I don’t know how old you are, but if you are in school, is there a guidance counselor or school therapist who can intervene for you to get the help you need?
Once I was diagnosed with Tourette’s, it was such a validation. It told me and everyone else what I already knew…that I COULDN’T help it. And it I WASN’T doing it for attention and that it wasn’t a habit. But this was back in the 70s! I can’t believe they still tell people that nowadays.
Anyway, getting diagnosed, either way, will also help you identify treatments and ways to deal with your tics.
I truly hope you can get the guidance you need.
