I can't stop coughing.they say it's a tic. 17 yes old- the tic. I'm 32. No one I've ever met has a coughing tic: am I always going to be alone?

No. I have a coughing tic, as well. It's supposed to be very common among Tourette's sufferers, I think. Don't feel alone. I didn't know I had Tourette's all my life until this year - and I'm 44! That was really hard, man. To think that was all me and trying to not do those tics. I'm not that much doing it, but have shaken my head a lot. Hopefully we'll meet a girlfriend someday who has Tourette's or OCD or at least understands.

Keep going. It seems rough at the moment but you will find someone who will love you for who you are and not define you because of your tic.

BradleyS, After years of therapy for anxiety, I am finding out I have had OCD with tics my whole life. I currently have a tic where I have to sniff and clear my throat all day long. Everyone is always asking me if I am sick or if I need a tissue. It is especially annoying during the pandemic when people are hyper aware of sick people. You are so much more than this uncontrollable feeling and I wish you so much happiness.

Wow!! I have an undiagnosed tic disorder and I’m almost 16 and it’s great to see these adult role models going through the same thing as me!

Kateeg1123, I have to travel 8 hours to get Botox injections at UAMS. They have amazing movement disorder specialists that have helped me so much since I posted this message. I’m getting better, and you can too. Have you looked into movement specialists in your state? They can diagnose and treat you. It might be covered by your insurance. My disorder started when I was 15. Right around your age. I feel you, dude. You can get better. Thank you for your post!!!
