I'm 34 years old and a supervisor where I work.  I have an unspecified tic disorder that has not subsided with age.  This last week I was working closely with 5 emploiees, 4 of them I usually don't work that closely with.  I'm sure they have noticed for some time that I have tics but we have never discussed it.  Last week my involtary movements were significantly worse then usual, bad enough that it was interfering with my ability to do my job more then usual.  My emploiees didn't say anything but just tried to help me as much as possible.  They all pretended not to notice somethings.  They did things for me that I wasn't capable of doing.  I even accidently hit one of them fairly hard and he just apoligised to me.  One of them seemed to feel sorry for me.  It was awkward.  I thanked them for their suport but I kind of wanted to discuss it more but didn't know how.  I still don't know what they thought or why they think I move/ sound the way I do sometimes.

They treated me with kindness and respect (though it would have been a poor career choice not to) yet I felt alone and incompitent.  I also worried that they would complain to my boss, who has never seen me with such poor control over my body.  Part of me wanted them to say something so we could talk about it.  Part of me wanted one of them to be rude to me so I could be mad at them instead of myself.

How do I bring it up to people who don't ask?  How do I over come the shame I feel even when no one around me seems to be judging?
