I need anyones advice that may know?? I have an 8 year old w/Autism, whom has always had odd behaviors, however nothing like Tics. Odd behaviors like putting hands down pants, stripping off his clothes, melt downs, and runnning. My oldest son is the one whom has Tourettes) My 8 year old son had to be hospitalized re always grabing his lower back and saying "it hurts". He can't communicate well, However can tell you what he needs. I do belive he learned to say it hurts, cause myself and spouse would always ask "does it hurt?" and he'd say "hurts" , so back to the hospital stay. He was hospitalized for 5 days. He would scream, hold his back and cry, so doc @ urgent care wanted him to have an MRI. After much testing, MRI, bone scan, blood work, chest x-rays, and being on Morphine, and another med, nothing was found and out of no where he seemed to be well again. Maybe the rest w/meds helped some pain he had. We were convinced by all the test he was physically ok. So here is my delema each time I change him, touch him, or if he doen't like something or just for no reason he grabs his lower back, kicks up his leg, clenches his body and says "Hurts". No way! I seen a program recently I belive on Date Line was about children w/ OCD and Tics and a girl who came out did the same thing. I think its a possibility he may have Tourettes now or possibly a sensory thing. I don't know what to do anymore. Anyone have an opinion?
