I have a rare type of TS tic called a 'blocking tic" such that it prevents me from speaking. When this is going on I feel spasms in my larynx (vocal cords) sometimes along with a somewhat painful sensation. Have any of you all run across this before? It's similar to what is known as a 'negative tic' a tic that keeps you from moving some part of your body such as your arm. Anyhow, this is an annoying symptom that I'd really like to get under control.
I'm taking 80mg a day of a new drug called Ingrezza (valbenazine) for TS. I've been on this medication for roughly twoish months now. It seems to be helping me somewhat, I think, especially with the dystonia I have, I believe. The dystonic tics are quite annoying --- my shoulders tense up, my head starts tilting up/down and side to side, among other unwanted motions.
