Temporomandibular joint disorder, or TMJ syndrome, is an acute or chronic inflammation of the temporomandibular joint, which connects the lower jaw to the skull. The disorder and resultant dysfunction can result in significant pain and impairment.
Unfortunately with my TMJ, we just found out that the surgery that I had in 2014 was MASSIVELY botched!! He actually cut off my condyle bone... and inches of it. So now I have to have a full jaw joint replacement with an artificial bone put in place. So for myself, we couldn't figure out why absolutely nothing was helping my pain, but now we know why....
One thing that did help me before my surgery was acupuncture, if you have the ability to try that, I highly recommend this...
