In short I had a MVA on 1/27/92 That is when I started to have problems with my jaw hurting, ringing in the ears and loud clicking in the jaw with sometimes it locking in place. My problem is this, when the wreck happened it was considered a work comp case because I was driving to work in a company vehicle and had many other injuries but this didn`t get any attention until I had to have a broken tooth fixed[it was caused by the wreck].I had ask many of my doctors about the ringing in my ears and they said that it would probably go away.Little did I know that after all of this time it would still be there and is getting worse.I know there are treatments for this but why did they not tell me about them when I could get something done about it.And why is there so many different opinions as towhat caused it.I went to work that marning without a ringing in my ears and after the wreck I had it.You do the math.
I just need a good way to get through this and don`t know how to go about it.I can go to my orthodontist and talk to him but will it do any good? What can I expect if anything?Any advice or suggestions?

You can try talking to your orhodontist but if they don't specialise in TMJ problems then they won't be able to help you. If your orthodontist doesn't specialise in TMJ problems then you need to go to someone who does - they will help you and give you the right treatment to alleviate your problem and therefore your symptoms. You will get there in the end! Leanne

Thank you for your replies.I have a dental apointment so I will talk to my doc about it when I go the next time.I just need to find out if they can do something about it and get it done because the ringing in my ears is making it hard to do anything even sleep.
