Vibrations in the ears

This may sound weird but ever since I've developed tinnitus I sometimes get these vibration feelings in my ears. It only happens when the tinnitus is really screaming and only at a certain frequency. I don't know if it's imaginary or real. I can even mask the tinnitus but still feel the vibrations. Anyone else ever feel anything like that?

I mentioned it to my ENT and he just looked at me like I was talking about a ham sandwich. No reaction.

That's pretty much the reaction I get whenever I talk to ENT's about anything related to tinnitus. : ) Sorry, had to put that in there. ;-)

The only person I've heard talk about vibrations with T are people with Hyperacusis, but I'm pretty sure you don't have that. Sorry to be no help.

Does your ear flutter? It happens to me when I experience loud sounds. and sometimes my ear muffs THUMP. it could be your ear trying to equalize the pressure thru your eustachian tubes. you should check out Tonic Tensor Tympani Syndrome. I think I have a touch of that but not sure, it is either an involuntary overtensing of that muscle or the aforementioned pressure equalization issue. Like McMurdo said, its usually an H thing, are you sensitive to noises?

I get that, too, Bob, not often but it's when the t and hyperacusis are really bothering me. I've put my finger in my ear (it's only on the deaf/t/h side) to see if I can feel the buzzing and compare it to the other. I could swear I can feel the vibrations. Much of the ENT community is one big 'Huh?' so don't be surprised that your doc doesn't have a clue.

It's a really fast vibration feeling. Something like a sonicare toothbrush and it only happens when the T is really bad.

Sometimes I wonder if I have a mild case of hyperacusis. Since I've developed T certain sounds do seem louder and more annoying. It's usually noises in the upper frequencies.

I been doing a lot of research on tinnitus. Most people just don't know how to cure this condition, but it takes some effort and If you're really interested in getting rid of this condition then read my blog. I don't know it will help, but I hope it do. Thanks"
