Seeking Additional Investors to fund Tinnitus Trials
Raised $1M of $3 Million Round
To the Tinnitus Patient Community,
The Serenity System* - 10 patient tinnitus clinical trial in Belgium has delivered great results showing a clinically significant reduction in tinnitus in just 2-4 weeks for a majority of the patients. We will be presenting our extensive results at the Tinnitus Research Initiative Conference in June 2012 in Belgium and submitting them to an academic journal for publication.
The pressing need at this point is to raise additional capital from individuals around the world in order to fund additional tinnitus clinical trials. MicroTransponder plans to conduct another trial in Europe as well as a tinnitus clinical trial in the U.S., but additional investment is needed. Large medical device companies have expressed interest in our clinical results, but the tinnitus market is too small for them to invest after only 10 patients. They have asked for additional data from a larger tinnitus clinical trial in order to make an investment in the therapy.
In the last 45 days, we have secured $1 Million in investment commitments from various individuals (many with tinnitus) and we are seeking an additional $2 Million in investment by the end of March, 2012.
Due to the U.S. SEC rules, we must only accept investments from SEC defined "accredited investors". These are individuals with $1M in net worth or who have earned $200,000 in each of the last 2 years.
Interested individuals from anywhere in the world can visit our website www.microtransponder.com to fill out the investor form on the homepage and then we can send investment information to continue our development of this therapy for tinnitus. They may also email us at invest@microtransponder.com.
We have received many emails from those suffering with tinnitus asking how they can help. Right now, the greatest assistance would be forwarding this information to someone who might be in a position to invest. Few understand the severity of the tinnitus condition, outside of those who suffer themselves.

If we are able to get the additional funding needed for more clinical trials, we will announce the opening of enrollment for the next clinical trial via our website, on clinicaltrials.gov, and through our tinnitus update email list. (simply email tinnitus@microtransponder.com if you have not joined already)
The Serenity System features both an implanted device, similar to a neurostimulation device used in over 65,000 patients for the past 15 years to treat epilepsy; as well as external controller which wirelessly turns the device on and off. The patient wears headphones to listen to a series of tones during therapy. Both the headphones and external controller connect to a single laptop computer, which runs software that coordinates both the stimulation and the tones in a paired manner.
Our CEO Will Rosellini will be continuing to provide frequent updates on our tinnitus research at www.willrosellini.com

NEJM Harnessing Plasticity to Reset Dysfunctional Neurons (April 2011)

Neuroscience VNS Mechanisms of Action (May 2011)
We are working diligently to bring our therapy to patients with tinnitus as quickly as possible. Thank you for your support.
thanks,
the MicroTransponder Team

Yeah I just got the same email. Sounds very encouraging. Hope they can raise the dough. Sadly, I don't know anyone who falls in that tax bracket. It occurs to me that they might hit on the music and entertainment industry. There are many from those ranks that are already among us.

Received this email as well. Does sound encouraging. Hope they get the needed funding to continue research and trails. Good to know people are working on this. I thought I read somewhere about the cost which seemed out of reach of most people which if true rules out helping all that suffer from tinnitus and relegates it to those who have money. Hoping their is an affordable cure for all some day.
